This shaman's kit (undated) includes bird feet and other natural items, bells, etc. It would have been used in divination, healing, and other shamanic rites. Shaman kits (often called "medicine bundles") were used by traditional healers in Early America, Africa, Asia, etc.; shamanism is a very old practice, with deep cultural roots all over the world.
