Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests (Qinian Dian)

The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests is set on top of a three-tiered marble platform that is 90m (300ft) in diameter and 6m (20ft) high. The building itself is 38m (125ft) high, and constructed entirely of wood joinery (without nails). Its circular plan, like that of the other major structures in this complex, symbolizes the heavens; red is the color associated with imperial buildings, and blue roof tiles symbolize the color of the sky.
